IVF Scotland, Edinburgh’s only private IVF facility, is celebrating the announcement of its first year since opening. The clinic has treated 247 patients between April 2010 – April 2011. Since opening, IVF Scotland has produced success rates way above the national average. For patients up to 35 years of age, pregnancy rates are 48%. This is a promising figure given the National average for live births of 33%*.
Lead Consultant, Dr Joo Thong said, “The figures are incredibly promising. IVF treatment isn’t cheap so it’s important that every single patient has the best chances possible to become pregnant. Our clinical expertise, combined with state-of-the-art facilities has provided an ideal breeding ground”.
IVF treatment typically costs around £5,000 per cycle. If patients require a few cycles, costs can mount very quickly.
