One-stop breast lump assessment

Patients who come to Spire Roding Hospital with a breast lump that needs to be investigated can benefit from our one-stop assessment service, which offers key investigations on the same day.

Prompt assessment in a clean, comfortable and private hospital environment

Immediately after undertaking an initial examination, our consultant breast surgeons Mr Ojo or Mr Snooks will be able to refer patients for an imaging procedure to further assess the lump if necessary. The imaging procedure (usually ultrasound or mammography) will be carried out by a consultant radiologist in our clean and comfortable radiology department. Scan results are normally available straight away.

If an abnormality is found on the scan, a biopsy will then be carried out by the consultant in clinic.

A breast care nurse will be available for the duration of the one-stop assessment.

We welcome both privately insured and self-funding patients. If you have private medical insurance, you'll need a GP referral letter before you make an appointment.
