Mr Amit Sinha qualified from Patna University, India, in 1989. After having qualified as a surgeon in India in 1993, he came to the UK in 1996 and obtained GMC Specialist Registration in Surgery in 2006.
Mr Sinha has extensive laparoscopic general surgical experience with particular expertise in laparoscopic cholecystectomy and laparoscopic hernia surgery, which he currently performs through a single incision at the umbilicus (otherwise known as ‘scarless’ laparoscopic surgery).
As a registrar, the majority of his Mr Sinha's time was spent gaining experience in colorectal surgery and, subsequent to his specialist registration, he worked as a Fellow in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Singapore General Hospital with Professor Eu Kong Weng. This provided him with hands on experience in laparoscopic management of both benign and malignant colorectal disease and anal canal conditions. He has particular interest in the management of haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas of the anal canal.
Mr Sinha has JAG (Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) accreditation, for independent specialist practice in the modalities of gastro-duodenoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.
