Professional profile:
Mr Bhattacharyya qualified with distinction in Medicine and completed his masters degree in surgery from the Univeristy of Bombay. His postgrad training in ENT was in centres of excellence in the UK, including the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, Great Ormond Street and the Royal National Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital in London.

Mr Bhattacharyya was appointed as a consultant at Whipps Cross Univeristy Hospital and King George Hospital in 1997 and is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Laryngology and Otology. He is the regional Otologist for NE London and Essex. He has been instrumental in developing Whipps Cross as a regional centre for otological surgery and management of voice disorders.

He has won numerous academic prizes and visited House Ear Institute and other centres in the USA as part of his Royal College Travelling Fellowship.Mr Bhattacharyya has also published extensively and lectures at regional, national and international surgical courses, and is an associate editor of a postgraduate ENT journal.

Mr Bhattacharyya has a special interest in Otology , particularly surgical management of conductive deafness. His other interests in ENT include management of patients with voice disorders, pharyngeal pouch surgery and extended applications of endoscopic sinus surgery.
