Following general radiology training in Cardiff, he specialised in neuroradiology during a two year fellowship in London. Dr Chawda also gained experience at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, The Royal London Hospital, St Bartholomews Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital.

As a Consultant Neuroradiologist since 2000, he has set up the regional Neurointerventional Service at Queens University Hospital, Romford, Essex and he is the lead Neuroradiologist at the Essex Centre for Neuroscience.
