Dr Paul Kooner is a Consultant Hepatologist with an interest in all aspects of liver disease, as well as general gastroenterology.
In his NHS practice, he looks after patients with chronic liver diseases including fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, viral hepatitis (hepatitis B and hepatitis C) and autoimmune liver disease. In addition, he investigates abnormal liver blood tests, and has an interest in diagnosing and treating hepatocellular carcinoma.
Dr Kooner also has experience of managing decompensated cirrhosis and liver transplantation. In the field of endoscopy, his main interest is portal hypertension.
I have been trained in the major London liver units, including those at the Royal Free Hospital and King's College Hospital.
My NHS practice is at Bart's and the Royal London Hospitals and Queen's Hospital, Essex. I look forward to bringing my liver expertise to private patients in the local area.
