Dr Mohammed finished his training in respiratory and general medicine in 2009 in Edinburgh, which is one of the leading units in respiratory medicine in the UK with an excellent reputation at national and international level. During Dr Mohammed's training years, he had the opportunity to work with world experts in respiratory medicine.
Dr Mohammed took his first consultant post at Stirling Royal Infirmary, Scotland, in 2009 before moving to Whipps Cross University Hospital in east London, where he is currently working as a consultant chest and general physician. At Whipps Cross, he runs respiratory clinics with a special interest in lung cancer and general respiratory medicine.
Having trained in the new innovative technique, (EBUS) Endobronchial Ultrasound System, by using the bronchoscopy, Dr Mohammed has taken the lead in the bronchoscopy and non invasive ventilation service at Whipps and is working to establish this service at the hospital.
As an acute and general physician, Dr Mohammed is also very involved with the ongoing development of the New Emergency Medical Centre at Whipps Cross Hospital, and is and taking the lead on clinical guidelines and clinical audit projects.
Dr Mohammed says, "Respiratory medicine is an interesting speciality...its wide and diverse scope provides an excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team. As a respiratory physician, I have trained to the highest standards in chest and general medicine to achieve my main objective, which is to improve the standards of patient care to the highest possible level. I have an aptitude for innovative practical procedures and an empathetic approach towards patients with chronic disorders."
