Regency Hospital's first in-patient - Mrs Brooks from Prestbury first came to the Regency on the day that the hospital opened in 1991. She and her husband, have since been patients at the Regency four or five times. Last week (August 2009) I was in the Spire Regency to have a shoulder operation carried out by Mr Waseem.

I write to record my thanks to Mr Waseem and the staff on the Byron Ward for the professional, effective and courteous manner in which they dealt with me.  I was so impressed with the sensitivity of the staff and their positive outlook in seeking to explain and to reassure me in regard to anything associated with my operation.

Before coming to the Spire Regency we were met at Manchester airport by Superb Cars who were most helpful in transporting usaround throughout the few days we were there.

Overall I have been left with a very positive memory of the Spire Regency and I already feel an initial benefit of the operation.

'I wish I could have stayed in longer' said Mrs Cooper who had bi-lateral foot surgery with Mr Dalal in February 2009. 'I was in comfortable surroundings, my room was clean and everyone was so nice to me.  The nursing care was excellent, especially the night nurses who were lovely. The ward hostesses were nice and pleasant and my tea was piping hot, just how I like it! Some people are uptight when they go in to hospital, but I found everyone, including the receptionists, make you feel at ease. I was never left alone for long wondering what was going to happen next'

I was treated at the Spire Regency under difficult circumstances under the excellent care of Andrew Pickersgill.  I had a few complications post-operatively and during this time I received the most excellent nursing care particulary from Karen Gater and Victoria Marlow who were simply fantastic.  They were sympathetic and caring which was exactly what I needed.  I would not hesitate to come back to this hospital as I have previously been treated by Mr Pickersgill elsewhere and the standards have not been the same as yours.
