Professional profile:
I have worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Leighton and Macclesfield Hospitals since 1988.

I am happy to provide a general Ophthalmological service including paediatric work. The post has evolved in that now any interventions for complicated vitro-retinal surgery tends to be referred to major centres as can other problems, to either Manchester or Liverpool.

I have tried to develop a local ophthalmological service to provide the majority of needs of the local population and am happy to refer on, if needed.

I believe in trying to give good patient information and use information booklets available from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and The American Academy of Ophthalmology. I try to explain things in comprehensible detail to patients on clinical visits. I am proud to have been elected as President of the Macclesfield Society for the Blind and President of the IRIS Foundation in Crewe.
