Professional profile:

Mr Desai was appointed as Consultant at Stepping Hill hospital having done the majority of his training in Windsor and Glasgow.  Mr Desai is author of the best selling book 'Phacoemulsification made easy'.  The book is aimed at trainee cataract surgeons and has sold over 10,000 copies.  Mr Desai also trained in Vitreoretinal surgery.

Mr Desai has over 20 years extensive experience in Ophthalmology and is a comprehensive ophthalmic surgeon with special interests in cataract surgery and also medical and surgical retina. 

Mr Desai is the lead Diabetic Retina specialist for Stepping Hill Hospital and is also the lead for primary care Ophthalmology.

Personal profile:

Mr Desai likes travelling, hiking and photography.  He also likes technology, but only if it can improve productivity!  Mr Desai loves quotations by Aristotle, his favourite being :-
