Accredited colonoscopist for National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme
Dr. Koss qualified from Medical University in Gdansk in 1991. He gained a PhD in inflammatory bowel disease in 1995 and researched inflammatory bowel disease at Hammersmith Hospital in London and then conducted post-doctoral research at Oxford University and John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford between 1996-1998.
Following a successful period in the research field he underwent extensive training in general medicine and joined a Specialist Registrar Training Programme in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine in Nottingham and West Midlands (2001 - 2006).
Dr Koss has been appointed as a Gastroenterology Consultant at Macclesfield DGH since 2006. He also conducts advanced endoscopy sessions at Salford Royal (Hope) Hospital in Manchester and Leighton Hospital in Crewe.
His clinical practice involves seeing patients with a variety of gastroenterological and liver disorders, providing a comprehensive endoscopy service with diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, EMR and capsule endoscopy.
Recently he required accreditation as colonoscopist for the National Bowel Screening Programme requiring the highest standard of quality and safety.
