Our teams of orthopaedic surgeons and medical professionals are experienced in caring for a wide range of complex conditions in a clean and modern environment that aims to support the quickest possible recovery.
Joint replacements
Spire Regency Hospital in Macclesfield has performed many hip and knee replacements alone. These include the Unicompartmental (“oxford”) knee replacement, performed by expert knee surgeon, Mr Graham Keys. Mr Keys was involved in the development of this unicompartmental knee replacement procedure, and minimally invasive knee surgery.
Spinal surgery
Patients travel from Cheshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Greater Manchester to see innovative spinal surgeon Mr Vik Kapoor. Mr Kapoor performed Cheshire’s first vertebroplasty (a procedure for the treatment of vertebral collapse due to spinal osteoporosis) at Spire Regency Hospital. He also performs the X-Stop procedure for lumbar spinal stenosis and Balloon Kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fractures.
Upper and lower limb surgery
Mr Keith Barnes, Mr Rakesh Dalal, Mr Steve Kershaw, Mr Graham Keys, Mr Andrew Lavender and Mr Tahir Khan make up the Spire Regency Hospital team of expert lower limb consultants.
As well as the skilled team of lower limb and spinal consultants, we have four leading upper limb surgeons - Mr Jeremy Auchincloss, Mr Mohammed Waseem, Mr Jochen Fischer and Mr Martin Holt. The team treat elite sports professionals as well as patients from the local community. They are highly regarded by local GPs and physiotherapists for problematic conditions associated with the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist.
