Professional profile:
I qualified in dentistry in Liverpool (1978) and medicine in Cardiff (1991) My surgical training was in the West Midlands (Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Stoke on Trent). I've also worked in Holland, Hong Kong and the USA. In 1999 I was appointed as Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth and St Mary's, Isle of Wight. I had previously been a Consultant in the RAF at Royal Hospital Haslar from 1996 to 1999.

My special clinical interests include head and neck cancer, facial skin cancer, salivary gland disease, microvascular reconstructive surgery, laser surgery and cosmetic facial surgery.

I currently lead the Head and Neck Oncology service on the south coast and chair the South West Cancer Intelligence Service head and neck group.
Personal profile:
In my private life I'm married to Lin and have two children, Lucie and Hollie. Outside work my interests are family and various sports, which include; football, cricket, golf, horse racing and motor racing. I've participated in all of these sports except horse racing, althoughI do have a share in race horse ownership and dream of a winner at Royal Ascot. I play golf when I can and am a member of the MCC. I also have a Portsmouth Football Club season ticket and work closely with the players who have facial injuries.
