Mr Kane qualified from St Bartholemew's Hospital in 1996. He undertook higher surgical training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in the Wessex Deanery developing an interest in trauma and hip and knee arthroplasty. This was furthered with specialist fellowship as Arthroplasty Fellow and Lecturer at The Royal Adelaide Hospital (2008/9).
Mr Kane is a consultant at Queen Alexandra Hospital where he has a busy elective and trauma practice. His special interests are in hip and knee arthroplasty and knee arthroscopy. He is on the trauma rota managing general trauma and periprosthetic fractures and has a further interest in the management of elderly hip fracture patients.
Outside work Mr Kane enjoys sailing, windsurfing, skiing and tennis, although most of this has now taken a back seat with the arrival of his young family!
