Early in my orthopaedic training I developed an interest in lower limb joint replacement, which I was able to develop during my fellowship. During this time I was seconded for a week at a time to luminaries in both hip and knee surgery, not only in this country but also in Europe and the United States of America.  This provided an invaluable experience from which I have been able to develop my practice since becoming a consultant. I have also developed a specialist interest in arthroscopic surgery around the knee.

During 15 years as a consultant I have gained extensive experience of knee arthrosplasty in its various forms. I have been involved with new and innovative technologies used to treat the degenerate knee. I have acquired a broad knowledge in the use of Uni, Bi and patella femoral compartment replacement, and have worked on the development of these procedures. I provide a tertiary referral service for revision and knee salvage procedures, as well as the management of infected knee joints.
