Professional profile:
As a consultant in the RAF Mr Skipper has specialised in treating aviators with ear, nose and throat disorders, and he has lectured on Aviation Medicine courses for 14 years. At Haslar Hospital he regularly saw divers. He has practised endoscopic sinus surgery for many years and has introduced computer assisted, image guided sinus surgery to the Portsmouth Hospitals. His special interest is in the treatment of chronic ear disease in adults and children, such as cholesteatoma or perforations of the eardrum. He has 16 years of experience of bone anchored hearing aids. He runs  a voice clinic at Queen Alexandra Hospital with a speech and language therapist. The digital voice analysis and videostroboscope permit accurate diagnosis of voice disorders, especially important in the treatment of professional voice users and singers.
Personal profile:

I visit Cyprus regularly as a visiting otologist.  Whilst based there during my time in the RAF, I learnt to windsurf, sail and dive. Moving to the Solent in 1995 has allowed me to continue windsurfing and take up sailing again. I have a BA Humanities in French and Classical studies and I am trying to learn modern greek.

I am currently completing a law degree with the OU.

I have recently joined Ear Surgery Camps in Nepal run by the charity BRINOS.
