Mr Harper trained in medicine and surgery at Cambridge and Oxford Universities before completing his orthopaedic training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore where he was a Lecturer in Orthopaedics and a Senior Registrar. He then completed a Specialist Fellowship year in shoulder and elbow surgery in Sydney, Australia before returning to work in the NHS in England.
He has been awarded a European Travelling Fellowship, an AO Trauma Fellowship and was part of the European (EFORT) Travelling Fellowship program. Mr Harper now specialises solely in shoulder and elbow surgery and sports injuries in the NHS and privately.
Mr Harper teaches regularly around the country with the Watanabe group in arthroscopic shoulder training and has presented at a number of National and International meetings regarding shoulder surgery. He has published in numerous peer revered journals on shoulder surgery, the list of which can be obtained via his website. He is now the Senior Shoulder Surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals.
