Background Information 
Professional profile:
Mr Booth qualified from Southampton University in 1994. He completed basic ophthalmic training in the South West Thames region before returning to Wessex to complete his specialist training. He was appointed to the post of Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Queen Alexandra Hospital in October 2004.

He gained particular experience of the management of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy while at Southampton Eye Unit, including the use of photodynamic therapy (PDT) and the new anti-VEGF drugs which are offering hope of visual improvement for patients with previously untreatable macular degeneration.

He undertakes general opthalmology and medical retinal outpatient clinics as well as laser and cataract operating lists. In addition, he holds an outpatient clinic fortnightly at the Highlands Road Medical Centre in Fareham.
Personal profile:
Mr Booth is married with three young children, and devotes his spare time to family life. His other interests include canal boating, walking and cycling.
