Professional profile:
I am a relaxed endocrinologist with a breadth of experience in the management of thyroid, parathyoid, adrenal, pituitary and overian conditions. I also have a lot of experience working with patients who have diabetes, particularly in the management of blood sugars, cholesterol, raised blood pressure and foot conditions. I work closely with surgical colleagues to offer medical and hormonal advice and treatment.

I qualified from the University of Bristol Medical School in 1989. Subsequently I have worked in London, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Eastbourne and Southampton endocrinology and diabetes centres. I undertook a period of diabetes research at St Thomas's Hospital London in the 1990's examining Insulin dose adjustment and the role of growth hormone treatment. The past 10 years as a Consultant in Portsmouth, I have set up services dedicated to managing diabetes, thyroid disease, pituitary, parathyroid and pituitary gland services. I work hard to provide the best advice and treatment for the management of these glandular conditions.
Personal profile:
Originally from Northampton, I am now settled in Southsea, Portsmouth where we have recently relocated after a brief stay in Titchfield. I am married to an energetic GP, Penny who likes to run marathons. I like to support her in this hobby without having any urge to run myself. My hobbies outside of the workplace include tennis, golf, cards and other competitive pastimes. I am an active person and I like to cycle to work in order to stave off the middle-age spread. My moments of relaxation are spent in Southsea with family and friends. We have many friends in and around Portsmouth and have adopted this wonderfully vibrant town as our own.
