For many people coming into hospital is a daunting prospect, at Spire Portsmouth Hospital we want to ensure that we answer your questions and allay your fears so that your stay with us is as comfortable as possible.
Providing you with the highest standard of comfort and care is our priority
The information we give you prior to admission is specific to your operation, treatment or investigation. There will be instructions on preparing for your stay and what you need to bring with you on the day of your admission.
Generally we ask that you do not drink alcohol the day before admission and if you are a smoker, stop smoking or cut down as much as possible, if you are having a general anaesthetic.
On the day of admission please bring with you:
- All medication (in its original packaging) that you are taking
- Dressing gown
- Slippers (closed toe)
- Books and/or magazines
- Toiletries
- Toothbrush and toothpaste or denture cleaner
- Shaving kit
- Small travel clock
