I am a Consultant Opthalmic Surgeon at University Hospital of Coventry. Previously, I was a Consultant at the Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham.

I graduated and obtained my specialist certificate in Italy. I then spent 2 years of clinical and research fellowships in Medical Retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Thereafter, I continued doing research and clinical work at the University of Rome. I then returned to the UK where I established my career. Prior to taking my first NHS consultant post in 2000, I visited several American Universities where I consolidated my retinal specialist knowledge.

I practice general opthalmology and carry out small incision cataract surgery. My main sub-specialty is medical retina with emphasis on age-related macular degeneration (AMD). I developed the NHS and private sector service for photodynamic therapy (PDT) and wet AMD in Coventry and Warwickshire. I am experienced with the new injection treatments like Macugen, Lucentis and Avastin. I offer my patients the benefit of easy access and expertise in high-tech retinal imaging and scanners such as the non invasive optical coherence tomography (OCT), which are essential best practice tools for managing macular diseases.
