Background Information
Professional profile:

I am a Consultant Gynaecologist at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. I am also the lead for gynaecological cancer services. I completed a research that led to an MD in gynaecology. I have also trained in medical oncology obtaining a diploma in the field. I became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK in 1996 at the early part of my training and became successful in my first attempt. Subsequently I trained in North London Specialist Training Scheme in Gynaecology and Obstetrics. I worked in busy inner city London hospitals e.g. The Whittington, The North Middlesex University Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital & Medical School. I was an Administrative Senior Registrar and also Clinical Research Fellow at The Royal Free Hospital where I trained in cancer surgery and in minimal access surgery.

I strongly believe in offering women freedom to make informed decisions regarding their own health issues and in fact, this is the most fundamental reason I wanted to be a gynaecologist. I have always had an interest in gynaecological surgery and its further developments. I feel strongly about the cosmetic aspect of surgery and I strive hard to maximise the benefit of surgery with minimal discomfort and disfigurement.

I have extensive experience in general gynaecology, menstrual disorders, polycystic ovaries, hormonal problems, menopause, recurrent infections, cystitis, vaginal or uterine (womb) prolapse, pelvic floor surgery, polyps, ovarian cysts, endometriosis and hysterectomy, especially key-hole (laparoscopic) surgery. I am an accredited colposcopist and trainer with further accreditation in gynaecology ultrasound, therefore having an expertise in minimal access surgery, outpatient hysteroscopy and ultrasound. I provide a “One Stop” care for women with menstrual disorders, bleeding after menopause and concern of ovarian cyst.

I am experienced in major gynaecological surgeries as well as cosmetic surgery e.g. complicated major surgery, vaginoplasty, labial refashioning and reduction. I have specialist knowledge and skills in managing problems such as abnormal cervical smears, screening of gynaecology cancer, diagnosis and treatment of gynaecology cancers.

Personal profile:

I enjoy still photography, computing and information technology. I have an eclectic interest in cooking, ranging from classical Indian to continental dishes. I keep some of my leisure time for family; a wife who is a General Practitioner and two daughters.
