Salman Ghani FRCP has been consultant respiratory physician at the Solihull Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands since April 2005. He graduated from Punjab University in 1989. He underwent his postgraduate and specialist training in Republic of Ireland. He completed his Specialist training in General and Respiratory Medicine June 2003.
Dr Ghani worked as a Lecturer in Respiratory Medicine and Clinical research fellow from 2002 to 2005 at University College Dublin/ St Vincent’s University Hospital Dublin. . He was actively involved in laboratory based research “Polymorphisim in the promoter region of the macrophage migratory inhibitory factor (MIF) in Sarcoidosis and asthma”Currently he is the Respiratory lead for the Solihull Hospital, running three Respiratory clinics including LTOT per week at Solihull Hospital and one Tuesday afternoon private clinic at Spire Parkway Hospital Solihull. Clinc. He chairs weekly Respiratory Radiology meeting at Solihull Hospital. Since 2005 when the Community Respiratory Team in Solihull was initiated, there has been a very close working relationship with himself at Solihull Hospital. The integrated approach has developed over time and has been so successful.
I am married and have three daughters. I love fish keeping. I have three acquarium at home and keep different varieties of tropical fish including angel and discuss fish.
