Dr Wilson is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and Spire Parkway Hospital. He qualified in 1988 at Birmingham Medical School. After house jobs, he did a medical rotation at North Derbyshire Royal Infirmary and came back to Birmingham to undertake specialist training in gastroenterology. Dr Wilson was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at City Hospital in 2000 and moved to Heart of England in October 2008. His special interests include pancreatic, biliary and general liver disease, as well as other interests.
Dr Wilson was born in Sheffield and brought up in Rotherham. He is married to Bridget and has two daughters, Emma and Hannah. He has a wide variety of interests outside medicine, including British naval history, gardening, photography and has recently developed an interest in Genealogy.
