Dr Plowman specialises in the neuropsychological assessment of the cognitive, emotional and behavioural consequences of Acquired Brain Injury in adults following road-traffic accidents, assaults, anoxia, exposure to toxic substances and progressive neurological conditions. He has experience in the assessment of disorders of mood, neurotoxicology, epilepsy, drug and alcohol misuse, tumours, HIV, PTSD and dementia in the areas of Occupational Health and Private Health.
Dr Plowman’s neuropsychological assessments are based upon an in-depth clinical interview, utilising a range of proven psychometric assessments examining such areas as memory, attention and concentration, the composites of intellectual functioning and application of effort, mood and executive functioning. All reports are detailed and thorough and in total, the face-to-face component of the assessment takes in the region of four hours. On average, the completed report is available between two and four weeks from the time of the assessment.
Dr Plowman is listed in the ‘Directory of Expert Witnesses’ which is maintained by the British Psychological Society, the representative body for psychologists in the UK, and with the Health Professions Council. Dr Plowman is employed by South Staffordshire and Shropshire NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, which he combines with a Medico-Legal Practice.
