Dr Anjali Zarkar graduated from Bombay University in 1993. She obtained postgraduate qualification in General Medicine from Bombay University in 1996. She has completed specialist training in Clinical Oncology from the West Midlands Deanery following initial training at the Clatterbridge Centre of Oncology, Liverpool. She has done Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Science from the Liverpool University.
Dr Zarkar has significant experience in the treatment of urological malignancies including prostate cancer, bladder cancer and kidney cancer as well as skin cancers. She was appointed as Consultant Clinical Oncologist in May 2006 at the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. She takes part in a number of clinical trials in oncology and also is either principal investigator or co-investigator for a number of trials at her institution.
Dr Zarkar is married and has a two year old daughter. She enjoys being mother to her young daughter.
