Chartered Society of PhysiotherapyHealth Professions Council
Steve qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Keele University in 1999. He has been working here at Spire Norwich Hospital for 5 years and has more recently trained in advanced musculoskeletal assessment and diagnosis at the UEA.
Following initial assessment, in most cases he will provide a firm diagnosis and a through explanation of what the cause of the pain or problem could be. Based on this, a specific treatment programme will be undertaken. This often consists of 'hands on' soft tissue and joint mobilisation techniques which may initially require more frequent attendance and then agreed follow up reviews. Education on doing key exercises, along with postural and functional advice is also integrated.
Steve works closely with Orthopaedic Consultants to help provide a comprehensive patient service, with appropriate onward referral for an orthopaedic opinion and further investigations where necessary.
Since moving to Norwich Steve has taken up rowing and enjoys getting out on the Yare with friends, taking in the surroundings when the training isn't too intense! Steve also enjoys skiing holidays which is something to look forward to when the short winter days arrive.
