Benign Prostate Obstruction
Consultant Urological Surgeon, James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of EnglandMember of the British Association of Urological Surgeons
I completed my undergraduate training at the University of Sheffield. Following my basic surgical training, I did 2 years research in Bristol working towards my MD thesis, looking into the treatment of benign prostatic obstruction. My specialist registrar training was undertaken in the South Thames region, which also included a 2 year oncology and laparoscopy fellowship in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the James Paget University Hospital, and since my appointment, I have established the laparoscopic nephrectomy service. I continue to have an interest in the treatment of prostate disease, and now offer holmium laser prostatectomy (HoLEP). I also undertake all aspects of stone management, including laser lithotripsy and PCNL.
My wife is a GP and I have 3 lovely daughters. My outside interests include sailing, windsurfing, snowboarding, tennis and squash. I am a keen pianist, and have a wide repertoire of both classical and modern music.
