Professional profile:
I have been in Consultant practice in Norwich since 1981 in a unit which has always encouraged sub-specialisation. Having given up trauma, my work is now almost exclusively confined to lower limb elective surgery, focusing principally on all aspects of knee surgery. I am a past President of the British Assocation for Surgery of the Knee (BASK), and a past officer of the International Knee Society (ISAKOS). I have extensive editorial interests, having served on 5 editorial boards, and have recently stepped down as Co-Editor of "The Knee Journal". I am actively involved in research relating to knee surgery and am currently investigating the feasibility of day care, minimally-invasive, uni-compartmental knee arthroplasty.
