Dr Rashid has worked as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for 19 years and has been at the James Paget Hospital for the last 6 years. Dr Rashid is the Clinic Director of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at the JPH and holds memberships for the following speciality societies:
Dr Rashid believes strongly in continuous professional development and is always up to date with the very latest evidence based medicine. She takes the department lead for obstetric and gynaecology research and development and is a regular contributor to the scientific literature - her work has been published in a variety of world class international journals.
Dr Rashid's speciality interests include urogynaecology, colposcopy, menstrual disorders and menorrhagia. Not only does Dr Rashid have vast experience in practicing general gynaecology, performing numerous complex benign gynaecological procedures, but also runs specialist urogynaecological, colposcopy and menorrhagia clinics every week. Within urogynaecology Dr Rashid has a particular interest in uterovaginal prolapse repair surgery and to date, has introduced several new procedures to the James Paget Hospital, in helping to treat this condition. Dr Rashid also performs a variety of endometrial ablation procedures for treating patients with menorrhagia.
Dr Rashid enjoys a wide variety of extra curricular activities and in her spare time enjoys gardening, cooking, walking and entertaining friends. Dr Rashid regularly takes part in hospital fundraising events and volunteers whenever possible around the world, contributing to the vital work of organisations such as Medsin San Frontiers.
