Dr Blake is Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Honorary Consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery Queen Square as well as Honorary Consultant at Addenbrooke's and Ipswich Hospitals. He sees patients with peripheral nerve and muscle disease for diagnosis as well as investigation and treatment of patients with carpal tunnel syndrome and other entrapment neuropathies.
Dr Blake set up along with peripheral nerve team at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery the only one stop clinic in the UK for assessment of patients with inherited neuropathies such as Charcot Marie Tooth disease and inflammatory neuropathies which he jointly holds in London every week.
Dr Blake continues active research in peripheral nerve disease both at the National Hospital and at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead where he undertook his undergraduate training and where he performed his original research into aspects of mitochondrial disease.
Dr Blake lives in Breckland on a small holding. He has a great interest in motorcycling and has for many years been involved in provision of medical cover at motorcycle racing events particularly with the British Superbikes some of whose riders have unfortunately had the need to see him professionally.
