Mr Chung graduated from the Medical School in the University of Leeds in 1996. He has undertaken both the basic and advanced surgical training in ophthalmology in the Yorkshire region. He further developed his sub-speciality interests in Cornea and Oculoplastic (Eyelid) surgery by undertaking a super specialised fellowship programme at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital & Leeds General Infirmary.
He is particularly well qualified, having performed in excess of 3000 ophthalmic operations (including over 1500 small-incision sutureless cataract/lens surgery and 1000 eyelid surgery). While he has been trained to manage all general eye conditions, he specialises in a range of surgery:
He has presented in excess of 25 paper in national and international academic meetings (including USA, Australia and Europe). Some of these have been published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals (including Ophthalmology, Eye and Archives of Ophthalmology).
He was the winner of the Best Academic Paper Presentation Prize at the North of England Ophthalmological Society Annual Meeting and the Yorkshire Regional Brian Harcourt Best Poster Presentation Prize in 2006 respectively.
