Mr Karyee Chow is an accredited consultant urological surgeon based in Manchester. Born and educated in the UK, he graduated from the United medical and dental schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’, London in 1996 and completed his urological specialist training on rotation in the North West, gaining his experience at the major hospitals in the region.
His qualifications also include an MSc from The University College, London where he conducted research into bladder dysfunction, and a research M.D. from the University of Manchester which was awarded after 2 years of laboratory research into the causes of kidney stone disease. His research work has been published in peer review journals and he has presented the results nationally and internationally.
Mr Chow is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), BAUS section of endourology and the European Association of Urology.
In addition to providing a comprehensive range of urological services in the private sector at Spire Manchester and Bury, Mr Chow works full time for the NHS at a teaching hospital providing expert management for common urological conditions such as urological cancers, kidney, bladder & prostate problems, penile & scrotal abnormalities, urinary tract infections, impotence & erectile dysfunction and sexual disorders. He also delivers a sub-specialist kidney stone service at the University Hospital of South Manchester including complex stone management, minimally invasive therapies, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy and a metabolic stone service. His roles there also include the training of medical students and trainee doctors.
