Mr Dan Burke is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery at Manchester Royal Infirmary. He has returned to Manchester having successfully established a laparoscopic prostate and kidney service as a consultant in both Derby and Sherwood Forest NHS Trusts. Having graduated from London University he trained in Bath and the North-West of England before completing a 6 month fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery at the internationally renowned centre in Bordeaux, France. Here he gained invaluable training all forms of urological minimally invasive surgery, in particular nerve sparing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. He an enthusiastic teacher and is a member of the educational faculty of ‘The European Institute of TeleSurgery’ at The University Hospital, Strasbourg, where he regularly teaches on their international courses. He is also involved in the training and mentoring of fellow UK consultants in minimally invasive surgery. Above all Mr Burke is committed to providing a patient centered service.
Mr Burke is a keen sportsman although most of his involvement is now from the touchline. He is married with 3 daughters.
