    Professional profile:

    Professor Ammori took up surgical training in Leeds and Yorkshire. In 1998 he undertook a travelling fellowship to Tokyo, Japan. The Royal College of Surgeons of England granted him a hunterian professorship in 2000 for his academic achievements.

    By January 2001 he was appointed to the post of consultant surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary and honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester.  He subsequently moved to Salford Royal Hospital in March 2009.

    In addition to Professor Ammori's special interests, as mentioned above, his advanced laparoscopic surgery includes:

    Adrenalectomy
    Anti-reflux surgery
    Bile duct exploration
    Cholecystectomy
    Liver cysts
    Pancreatic pseudocysts
    Repair of groin hernias
