Dr Magdy Asaad
Clinical Director, Person Responsible
Dr Magdy Asaad was born in Egypt and trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist in Cairo before moving to the UK in 1982. He worked in England and Wales until 1990 and obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics, then Membership of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. In 1990 Dr Asaad moved to the United Arab Emirates where he and a colleague started the first, and largest, Governmental IVF centre. Dr Asaad was awarded Fellowship of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 1998 and returned to the UK where he joined the specialist team at LFC in 2004.
Samantha Knight
Lead Embryologist
Samantha has a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology. She obtained her training in clinical embryology at Guy’s Hospital and has over 20 years of embryology experience. This includes several senior embryologist positions and the clinical lead of an assisted conception service.
Samantha joined London Fertility Centre in 2006 and is currently Lead Embryologist. She is an HFEA licenced ICSI practitioner and in 2000 she became recognised by the Health Professions Council as a state registered clinical embryologist. In 2009 Samantha was accepted for Diplomate Membership of the Royal College of Pathologists. Samantha has trained and supervised many embryologists and continues to enjoy teaching and supporting the development of the embryology team.
Dr Safaa Maxwell
Fertility Specialist
Dr Safaa Maxwell trained as an obstetrician and gynaecologist in the UK since 1993. She worked in the field of reproductive medicine in London for 5 years and joined our centre having completed her training. Dr Maxwell joined our team at London Fertility Centre were she specialises in recurrent miscarriages and in our egg donation programmes. In her spare time she likes spending time with her family, reading, travelling and life drawing.
Dr Rosa Trigas
Fertility Specialist
Dr Rosa Trigas obtained her medical degree from the University of Barcelona in 1995. She trained as O&G at Valle Hebron Hospital ( Barcelona) obtaining her degree as Specialist doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2001. She then pursued further experience in O&G in Ireland, working for 3 years at The Rotunda Hospital. In 2005 Dr. Trigas moved to Melbourne, Australia, where soon afterwards she joined the Reproductive Biology Unit of The Royal Women's Hospital, where she became an expert in all aspects of evaluation and treatment of female and male infertility. Dr Trigas joined the London Fertility Centre as a fertility specialist in 2011 and currently is the medical supervisor of the Donor Sperm Bank. Dr Trigas is interested in all aspects of infertility however she has a particular interest in reproductive endocrinology and evaluation of ovarian reserve.
