    Let me introduce myself my name is Ann Gilbertson I am married to Mark and a mum to two lovely girls Abby and Lauren. Before training as Holistic Health Practitioner I worked at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. My background is in Teaching and Nursery Nursing.

    I realised there was a real need for children arriving at hospital, a strange environment, that they needed to be prepared.

    I trained as a Hospital Play Specialist in Liverpool. I worked on a surgical ward preparing children for surgery through pre-operative play programmes which I devised for Oncology and Surgery. My work was taken to Portugal by Dr Cunliffe a Consultant Anaesthetist, who realised that children from the surgical ward where happy and recovered much more quickly than before.

    My work was published in the British Journal of Theatre Nursing. From my experience working at Alder Hey which I found extremely rewarding I then trained as a Further Education Lecturer in Health and Social Care. I decided to re-train after years of teaching, as a Alternative Practitioner I am also a qualified Medical and Cosmetic Acupuncturist treating a wide variety of medical conditions, working within the health and corporate sector. My hobbies are singing,reading and keeping fit.
