Mr Giotakis specialises in the field of adult Orthopaedic trauma and Limb Reconstruction.
He graduated in the medical school of Verona in Italy in 1997. He completed his Orthopaedic training in the program of the Clinica Orthopedica at the University of Verona in 2002. This institution is renowned internationally for the development of techniques in complex Trauma and Limb Reconstruction.
He underwent fellowship training in the Royal Liverpool and Alder Hey University hospitals focusing further in the discipline of Trauma and Limb Reconstruction.
This was followed by a further one year fellowship in Trauma. Since 2004 he has worked as a Consultant in the Royal Liverpool University Hospital where he obtained a permanent appointment since 2007. During this period he expanded further his experience with two travelling fellowships in trauma centres in the US and in Germany.
Within his subspecialty interest he treats patients with complex injuries, with fractures that failed to heal, bone infection, limb shortening and deformities.
Mr Giotakis has published several scientific articles in Trauma and Limb reconstruction and is regularly invited as faculty in national and international scientific conferences and courses.
