Mr Danny Brown is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Royal Liverpool University & Broadgreen Hospitals, where he specialises in hand & wrist surgery. He lives on the Wirral and is married with two daughters.

Born and bred in the Northwest he was educated at Byrchall High Ashton Grammar School in Ashton-in-Makerfield and the University of Manchester where he gained his primary medical qualification in 1992. He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching in Clinical Practice (with distinction).

He is a fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England, FRCS (eng) and has passed the intercollegiate exam in Orthopaedics and Trauma, FRCS (tr & orth). In addition, he attained a Fellowship in (Plastics) Hand Surgery at Whiston Hospital in 2002.

As well as being a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England he is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and member of the British Society for Surgery to the Hand and the British Elbow and Shoulder Society. He is also a Faculty Member of the Association for the Study of Internal Fixation and an accredited educator for The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mr Brown's teaching experience is considerable and he is Regional Programme Director for Core Orthopaedic Training as well as a Royal College of Surgeons Tutor for The Royal Liverpool & Broadgeen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

He was awarded the Ellen Vannin Prize by Chester University for Excellence in Education 2005 and has lectured nationally and internationally in Europe, USA and Australia about the treatment of distal radial (wrist) fractures and their complications.
