Mr McCormick provides a regional NHS oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital service as part of a team at Aintree University Hospital Trust. He also provides a general ophthalmology service including cataract surgery.After graduating from the University of Sheffield Medical School Mr McCormick specialized in ophtalmology, completing his junior surgical training in Sheffield and senior training in the Merseyside region. Travelled to Auckland, New Zealand for a 1 year Oculoplastic and Lacrimal Surgery Fellowship. Completed his training in Manchester with a further 1 year fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery.Specialises in eyelid surgery including: eyelid cancer excision and reconstruction, ptosis, entropion and ectropion. He also performs cosmetic eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty), botulinum toxin anti-wrinkle injections and facial fillers (e.g. Restylane).Specialises managing eyes that water excessively, performing tear duct bypass surgery (dacryocystorhinostomy) by both the external skin incision approach and also the latest endonasal, no incision technique.Specialises in the management of thyroid eye disease, including orbital decompression for protruding eyes and eyelid surgery for lid retraction and orbital fat prolapse.Manage eye socket problems for people with artificial eye prosthesis. Also providing modern small incision cataract surgery by Phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implant.
Mr McCormick was born and bred in Liverpool and lives in a South Liverpool suburb with his wife and three children. He enjoys gardening and writing children's stories.
