Registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy
I have been providing psychotherapy at Spire Liverpool Hospital since 2006. My practice is also based at Hampden House Psychotherapy Centre in Manchester.
I qualified as a psychotherapist in 1994, training at the University of Liverpool. I previously worked from 1975 as a psychiatric social worker in forensic psychiatry (at Ashworth Hospital), adult psychiatry (at Royal Liverpool Hospital) and as a mental health practitioner in child and family psychiatry (at Alder Hey Hospital). I thus have a very broad background in mental health practice. I also worked from 1994-2000 as a sessional counsellor at the University of Liverpool. I retired from the N.H.S. in October 2009.
I was Chair of the Liverpool Psychotherapy Organisation from 2007-2011. I am also a founder member of the Liverpool Psychotherapy Network.
I have been a tutor since 2005 on the Tavistock Clinic/University of East London M.A. programme in Psychoanalytic Observation Studies.
