    Mr Wharton has been a Consultant for nearly 4 years, most of this time in Devon during which he had a varied and increasingly successful practice. His philosophy is to be honest and upfront with patients in terms of what he feels he can achieve and the expected outcome. His aim is always for a happy patient.

    He was born and grew up in Birmingham. After school he completed his Hons Degree in Anatomy and was head hunted to teach at Southampton University. 
    Mr Wharton completed his MPhil in 1988 and entered Southampton Medical School. Most of his HO and SHO jobs were on the South Coast. He returned to Birmingham for his SPR rotation in 1998.
    He was a Consultant in Plymouth for nearly 4 years, all of this time as Clinical Lead for Paediatric Plastic surgery and over 2 years as clinical lead for skin Oncology.He has now returned permanently to Birmingham.

    Mr Simon Wharton's main interests are skin cancer, cosmetic surgery including breast reduction, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty and prominent ear correction and the treatment of vascular lesions.
    Personal profile:
    Mr Simon Wharton is married with a son and a daughter and his family is particularly important to him. His son has special needs giving him a rather different outlook on life.

    Mr Wharton particularly enjoys creating bone jewellery and making wooden canoes.
