Mr Church is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Walsall Hospitals NHS Trust. Prior to this appointment he has held specialist posts at numerous Midlands hospitals such as Good Hope, New Cross and Heartlands and Solihull NHS Trust. Mr Church also spent two years as a Colorectal Research Fellow at Washington University in St Louis, USA.

Mr Church as accumulated extensive experience in colon and rectal resections and has particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease. He is an expert in at upper and lower GI endoscopy and performs surgery for Crohns disease, and ileo anal pouch procedures for patients with ulcerative colitis.

Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery is an area of expertise and a major part of Mr Church's practice which has developed through his work undertaken in the USA with one of America's leading laparoscopic surgeons

Mr Church is married to a consultant anaesthetist and has two sons. In his spare time Mr Church enjoys theatre, Birmingham symphony orchestra and family life. His other interests outside health care are gardening, scuba diving, golf and motorsport.
