Mr Tirumularaju graduated from M.K.C.G Medical College in 1986. Following a national selection process he got admission to specialist training in general surgery in V.S.S Medical College Hospital in 1988. He obtained masters degree in general surgery in 1991. Mr Tirumularaju submitted a thesis on Hydatidosis and was awarded M.S general surgery in 1991. He also conducted a research project on splenectomy for Sickle Cell Disorderand wrote a thesis with Prof B.P.Mishra. This was awarded a national prize fro research. Mr Tirumularaju joined Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi as Surgical Registrar with special interest in Gastrointestinal Surgery. His exposure to surgery and especially to trauma which was very good in the teriary centre. He reached the U.K in 1994 after passing his PLAB examination and was trained in Wales and obtained his CCST in October 2004. He was appointed as consultant surgeon in November 2004, with his special interests in colorectal cancer surgery and inflammatory bowel disease.
Mr Tirumularaju is married to Radha and they have a son called Naren. He likes to play chess and cricket in his spare time.
