I have over 25 years of orthopaedic experience and have held a substantive NHS consultant post since 1999.

I specialise in general orthopaedic surgery with specific interests in shoulder and knee surgery, trauma surgery and sports injuries with procedures ranging from arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures up to knee replacement and shoulder replacement, meniscal (cartilage) tears, Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rupture, shoulder dislocation fractures and instability, acromioclavicular (ACJ) disruption, as well as non-sport-related problems such as rotator cuff problems and arthritis.

To date, I have carried out well over 1,000 knee arthroscopies and over 1,000 shoulder arthroscopies. On average I perform 3-4 ACL reconstructions a month and 20-40 shoulder replacements a year.

I trained at Charing Cross and Westminster medical schools in London and qualified as a doctor in 1987. Following this, I trained in the North West Thames Orthopaedic training programme. As a senior trainee, I had Fellowship training in Berne, Switzerland in shoulder and hip surgery under Dr R Hertel and Prof R Ganz respective.

I am married with two children who are now both at University. I play 5-a-side football on a weekly basis and enjoy a game of table tennis. I gave up playing Rugby many years ago but enjoy watching the game at all levels. Also as a fairly stereotypical Orthopaedic surgeon, I enjoy woodworking.
