Background Information
Professional profile:
Mr Shun-Shin qualified from Guys hospital London. He was cataract research fellow at the University of Oxford for four years followed by another four years as a clinical lecturer/senior registrar at Oxford Eye Hospital.

He holds a weekly ocular clinic dedicated to the management of complex squints in adults and children of the West Midlands. This includes the use of botulinum toxin and adjustable sutures. At Spire Little Aston Hospital, Mr Shun-Shin has set up a fast track referral service for children with squints. Squint surgery is usually performed as a day case.

He also specialise in lacrimal disorders. Mr Shun-Shin pioneered No Scar DCR - ie endoscopic DCR - for watery eye (epiphora) in England, 14 years ago. The approach is through the nose and therefore there is no scar unlike conventional external DCR. Recovery is also faster. This service is now available at Spire Little Aston Hospital.

He is interested in cataract morphology, prevention and surgery and have published papers on the subject.
