    Dr Payne is qualified in medicine from Charing Cross Medical School in 1984 and came to the Midlands in 1985. His general medical and subsequent cardiology training was in Birmingham and he has been a cardiologist at Walsall Manor hospital since 1994.

     He runs two clinics per week with the facilities available to provide rapid assessment of all cardiological problems. One stop exercise testing allows for rapid risk assessment for patients with chest pain and the excellent mobile cardiac catheter lab provides on-site facilities for angiography. Echocardiography allows assessment of left ventricular function in patients with suspected heart failure. 24 hour ECG and BP monitoring is also available.
