Dr Malcolm S Hamilton is a 44 yr old Consultant Haematologist at Good Hope NHS Trust, Sutton Coldfield who has 17 years experience in the treatment of haematological malignancy including leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma and investigation of thrombosis risk factors and inherited thrombophilia.

Dr Hamilton trained in medicine at Bristol University graduating in 1982. Initial medical internships in the Professorial medical unit at Bristol were followed by comprehensive experience and training in acute medical specialities including cardiology, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, and rheumatology.

He has worked in Clinical Haematology in Edinburgh as a registrar before a 2 year period of research at Birmingham University in Multiple myeloma cell biology. From 1990-1994 he was Senior Registrar at University College and Middlesex Schools of Medicine in London gaining extensive experience of bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation for acute leukaemia and lymphoma.

He is a member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Pathologists and also a member of the British Societies of Haematology and Immunology.

He is director of a National External Quality Assurance Programme NEQAS Haematinic scheme for UK laboratories.
