Dr Ryatt got his first primary qualification from the Victoria University of Manchester in 1973, he then went onto his initial training posts in the teaching hospitals of Leeds (St James Hospital and The General Infirmary). Dr Ryatt was then appointed as a senior registrar in General Medicine and Geriatrics from 1977-79, he was hen appointed as a Lecturer in dermatology at the University of Leeds and The General Infirmary at Leeds. Dr Ryatt was awarded the Smith and Nephew fellowship for research into Per-cutaneous absorption at the University of California San Francisco with Professor H.I. Maibach.Dr Ryatt was appointed Consultant Dermatologist and Hon. Senior Lecturer in September 1985, however he took early retirement from the NHS in January 2011 and now works primarily in the Private Sector.
Dr Ryatt is married with two daughters in the medical field. He is interested in outdoor sports, Indian classical music and comparative religion.
