Dr Foulds has established a National and International reputation in the diagnosis and management of Dermatological conditions.
As part of his initial general medical training he worked as a Paediatric Registrar before specialising in Dermatology. When he was appointed to Good Hope and the former Skin Hospital he set up a number of innovative services. These included the first Skin Cancer Screening Clinic in North Birmingham, the first privately funded Laser service within the health service and a regional Cutaneous Allergy Service.
He developed training courses for GPs, Dermatologists, Nurses and other Health professionals within the West Midlands.
He has published extensively and written numerous book chapters. His research has discovered many new causes for skin conditions. He advises cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies on the safety of their products. He has helped advise the National Patient Safety Agency on the introduction of alcohol hand cleansers into Hospitals nationally to help reduce the incidence of MRSA.
Dr Foulds has enormous and sympathetic experience of the whole range of skin conditions and skin cancer and their treatment.
Dr Foulds is married with two grown up sons and a teenage daughter. He enjoys dabbling in many outdoor sports when time allows (golf, sailing, skiing, cycling, hill walking) and enjoys singing in Choral Groups and a good game of bridge.
